How to Keep Your Car Smelling Good

How to Keep Your Car Smelling Good

Is there anything worse than having a car that doesn’t smell so good? If you own a car, you simply want it to smell good, there’s nothing else to it. Especially if you’re going to have people in and out of your vehicle, it’s important to find a way to turn that bad smell into something good. Here are some tips for keeping your car smelling good.

Weekly Clean Out

Cars are great at hiding items that smell badly. In order to make your car smell good, you can spend time cleaning out your car on a weekly basis. Take out trash, food wrappers, and anything else that can make your car smell not-so-good. You will also want to take the time to vacuum out your vehicle.

DIY Fabric Freshener

Believe it or not, but you can make your own fabric freshener. Take a spray bottle and add a small amont of clothes softener to it. You get to choose your smell, which is always nice. Keep this spray bottle in your vehicle and spray it when needed.

Keep the Food Out

Everyone understands that vehicles can get gross quickly and eating/drinking in them does not help. If you want to keep your vehicle smelling good, keep the food and drinks out. Sometimes it can be hard to stick to this rule because your family is in a hurry. Keeping out food and drinks will ensure the smell stays away for good.

Remove Sports Equipment & Clothing

Another major defender in the bad car smelling game is sports equipment and clothing. When kids leave their dirty socks, pants, and shirts, they’re leaving behind a stench. Sweat and dirt is a major culprit for smelling up vehicles. Sports equipment can be taken out of the vehicle, cleaned, and then put back. Taking all of these precautions can keep your car smelling good.

Get Your Car Detailed

If you have tried everything you can to keep your car smelling good, but nothing is working, it may be time to get your car detailed. When you hire someone to detail your vehicle, you will get it cleaned from inch to inch thoroughly. You will enjoy a smell similar to a new vehicle once they’re done. It’s a pretty glorious smell.

It’s well worth it to keep your vehicle smelling good by cleaning it regularly and avoiding eating/drinking in it. What tips do you have for keeping your car smelling good?
